Because Brother Loretz was only visiting the Virgin Islands and Brother Auerbach was praised for his command of Negerhollands, it is most likely that Auerbach has translated the catechisms into Negerhollands, while Loretz or Loretz and Auerbach together have written the catechisms in German first.
